The movement through ordinary human development, through infancy, late childhood, adolescence, late adolescence, young adulthood, mature adulthood, old age, senility, second childhood … Now I am in my third childhood! But the spiritual life follows these changes, so that what you learn from psychology about the stages of consciousness is very helpful to understand that you cannot be an adult without ceasing to be in adolescence in some degree.
So, this raises the broad question of holons. What is a holon? A holon is a little bit of reality that has a real identity, a real purpose, but is inside another box, which is bigger. So, as it continues to grow, you have to add to the holon the dynamic of growth, because every living thing grows, has nourishment, and reproduces.
Teilhard [de Chardin] says that he thinks that bodily evolution is pretty much over and now it is a question of focusing on spiritual evolution or the stages of consciousness or preparing oneself for non-duality. Needless to say, if you seek it too ardently, you are on the wrong path, because that is just another ego trip. So, it is so thoroughly demanding that you cannot have interiorly any attachment so that you possess nothing, have nothing, are nothing, is a comfortable disposition. So, to get to that point, no matter how enlightened you are, even after enlightenment, there is a lot of work to be done.
As we grow spiritually, you have to die to the previous level, or if you prefer less strong language, you have to be moved into a bigger box, if you are a holon. But the holon theory means that you can move from being a particle all the way up to divine union. It is just one box into another, and there the wisdom is that in order to move, you have to let go of the limitations of the previous level you are on, which does not mean there was anything evil about it, but you are moving to a new perspective which is broader, hence you keep all that was good in the lower but is translated into this higher capacity.
So, the molecule becomes a cell, and the cell an organ, and an organ, a part of life, and then you get to spiritual energies. If you are human, you go on expanding right up to union with God.
Holones y nuestra evolución espiritual
El movimiento del desarrollo humano ordinario, a través de la primera infancia, niñez, adolescencia, adolescencia tardía, joven edad adulta, madurez, vejez, senilidad, segunda infancia… ¡Yo ahora estoy en mi tercera infancia! Pero la vida espiritual sigue estos cambios, y así, lo que aprendemos de la psicología sobre los estados de conciencia nos es muy útil para comprender que no podemos ser adultos sin dejar de ser adolescentes en alguna medida.
Esto nos lleva al tema de los holones. ¿Qué es un holón? Un holón es una pequeña parte de la realidad que tiene una identidad real, un propósito real, pero es adentro otro contenedor, que es más grande. Por eso, cuando continua creciendo, tenemos que agregar al holón la dinámica del crecimiento, porque cada cosa viviente crece, se nutre y se reproduce.
Teilhard [de Chardin] dice que cree que la evolución del cuerpo prácticamente ha terminado y ahora el tema es centrarse en la evolución espiritual, o los estados de conciencia, o prepararnos para la no dualidad. No es necesario decir que si buscamos con demasiada ambición estamos en el camino equivocado, porque se trata solo de otro esfuerzo egoico. Es tan completamente exigente que no podemos tener ningún apego, de modo que no poseer nada, no ser nada, es la disposición adecuada. Para llegar a ese punto, no importa lo iluminados que estemos, a un después de la iluminación, hay mucho trabajo que hacer.
Para crecer espiritualmente tenemos que morir al nivel anterior, o si prefieren un lenguaje menos contundente, tenemos que mudarnos a un contenedor mas grande, si somos un holón. Pero según la teoría del holón, eso significa que podemos pasar, recorriendo todo el trayecto, de ser una partícula a la divina unión. Es solo un contenedor dentro de otro, y, sabiamente, para pasar de uno a otro hay que dejar ir las limitaciones del nivel previo en el que estamos, lo que no significa que haya nada malo en ellas, sino que nos estamos moviendo a una nueva perspectiva que es más amplia, y por lo tanto mantenemos todo lo que era bueno en el nivel inferior, pero traducido a esta capacidad más elevada.
Así, la molécula se convierte en célula, la célula en órgano, y el órgano en una parte de la vida, y luego pasamos a las energías espirituales. Si somos humanos seguimos expandiéndonos hasta llegar a la unión con Dios.
