Meeting Father Thomas was, for me, sheer delight and somewhat discombobulating. He'd come to give a retreat in northern Kentucky maybe ten years ago, and the night before, we three Centering Prayer friends caravanned from Louisville to stay at the retreat house. Later that night we crept quietly down to the bottom of the stairs, in our PJ's, as he was speaking to a fund-raising dinner at the end of the hallway. We clutched each other with glee like children catching Santa Claus, peering through ... Read more

I will miss your humor and your wisdom. But I feel your loving presence will remain with us all.
My prayer life was radically changed along with my personal relationship with our ever present God when Fr. Keating came to teach Centering Prayer at the Franciscan Renewal Center. He loved us into a contemplative prayer process I had been longing for. My love and deep gratitude for his sweetness and sense of humor.
Thank you so much for your teachings, your warmth and your enthusiasm. I owe you so much. Thank you, Fr. Thomas! Dasha Queensland, Australia
I am so blessed having been introduced to Centering Prayer 18 years ago in Beaverton, Oregon. Fr. Keating, centering prayer has transformed my life, and I thank you and the other monks who were inspired by the Holy Spirit to share this prayer with us. The first time I met you in a small group and centered with you felt like I was close to God. Every time I wrote a note to you over the years to express my gratitude for you I was impressed that you sent back a note back to me of your own gratitud... Read more
I miss you from the very depths of my soul. You brought me back from lapsed faith and lit a fire of hope in my heart almost twenty years ago.Thank you.
I never met Father Thomas personally, but through his books and recordings, I have for the past 17 years been touched, inspired, strengthened, led, "met" by his clear loving wisdom, his deep humanity. Centering Prayer is the central axis of my life. Since his passing from this life, I feel with enormous gratitude his continued presence and guidance into intimacy with the heart of God.
I will miss Fr. Keating so much. I only this past year learned of his teachings and contemplative prayer. I am forever grateful for his teachings which have truly helped me through the grief of losing my only son and for helping me to find such peace and LOVE with Jesus through contemplative prayer. I am striving to become a better christian every day. God Bless you Father Keating. You taught me the true meaning of LOVE. Quincy, MA
I started Centering Prayer after reading Cynthia B' s book, and thought Fr Keating' s books too profound...until I was in the practice for a while and then found the Three books bound together and was profoundly affected by them. I started a monthly evening group last year and then after a five day Centering Prayer retreat with Carl, I felt called to start a daytime group in my parish. We just had our second session, I did a Welcome prayer retreat and then learned of father's passing into the L... Read more
