Youth and Young Adult Outreach Mission

Youth and Young Adult Outreach (Student Ministries) is a collaboration of interested persons working together. Its mission is to provide a conceptual and experiential background for the introduction, establishment and evolving experience of Silence, Lectio Divina, Centering Prayer, and the Contemplative Experience to young people from College, High School, Middle School, Elementary and preschool. This is provided mainly through, but not limited to, training, the Youth and Young Adult Outreach Resource Handbook, Mentoring, and Presentations.

Youth and Young Adult Outreach Resource Handbook and Training

The Youth and Young Adult Outreach Handbook contains both program curriculum and presenters’ guidelines. These documents are the result of efforts and collaboration of many people within Contemplative Outreach sharing their experiences teaching Centering Prayer, Lectio Divina and the Contemplative Experience to young people. Together they form a working document… a work in progress. The Youth Outreach Handbook is available to those who have completed the Youth Outreach Presenter’s Training.

Presenter’s Training is available to qualified persons. It consists of but not limited to:

Instruction on the programs in the handbook
Creating a dialogue for further program development
Mentorship
