First, we encourage prayerful discernment your interest in an on-going Centering Prayer program. Centering Prayer workshops are transformational rather than devotional or informational. Most often they lead to a deepening commitment to prayer which can have a significant influence on a faith community. Next, contact the Contemplative Outreach Chapter. The Coordinator will arrange a meeting with your groups' leadership to discuss the Centering Prayer Program. An agreement will establish an understanding and commitment, as well as a consensus on dates, presenters and workshop economics.

Financial Considerations for Hosting
 |
The Introduction to Centering Prayer |
We rely on contributions from workshop participants
and ideally, a contribution from the organization hosting the workshop.
The support of more fortunate churches, parishes and places of prayer is
of significant help in offsetting our administrative costs as well as
supporting our outreach to economically disadvantaged and ethnic and
cultural minorities, prisons, nursing homes and hospitals. Scholarships
to workshops are always offered upon request.
 | Workshop participant contribution |
A suggested contribution is expected of participants. For a complete seven session introduction - the all day workshop and six weekly sessions - a common mean throughout the country is thirty dollars. Even if Contemplative Outreach, the parish, church or place of prayer wishes to subsidize participants, we encourage participants' contributions as it conveys a sense of commitment. However, scholarships are always available upon request.
 | Presenter and Facilitator Honoraria |
For the all day workshop, an honorarium and paid travel expenses are expected for the Workshop Presenter. Facilitators of the weekly sessions generally volunteer their services, with significant travel expenses covered.
 | A Contribution to Contemplative Outreach |
Contemplative Outreach requests a contribution for its consulting and coordinating services. Generally, if Contemplative Outreach provides the coordination and publicity, it will receive the proceeds of the workshop and pay both the expenses and the Presenters' honoraria.
