The Way of the Heart
"Putting the mind in the heart, an organ of spiritual conception"

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Father Bill Sheenan, OMI, will explore the spiritual implications and beauty of the ancient practice of "putting the mind in the heart" as presented in Cynthia Bourgeault's chapter, "The Way of the Heart," from her new book The Heart of Centering Prayer: Nondual Christianity in Theory and Practice. During the retreat we will discover the inherent transformative nature of the heart as an organ of spiritual perception which a daily practice of Centering Prayer fosters.

This Contemplative Advent Retreat offers an opportunity for spiritual conferences led by Father Sheehan, Contemplative Meditation/Centering Prayer, celebration of the Eucharist in community, spiritual direction, and silence, solitude, reflection and rest.

Father Bill Sheehan, OMI, has been involved with Contemplative Outreach founded by Father Thomas Keating, OCSO, since 1983. During that time, he has led many Centering Prayer workshops and retreats in different parts of the country.

This retreat at the Oblate Renewal Center, 5700 Blanco Road in San Antonio, begins Friday evening, December 1 (4-6 pm registration) and ends at 12 noon on Sunday, December 3.

Online registration will be available on our site beginning September 21, 2017.
